The pediatric Eco-Heart allows to detect congenital heart disease in the child, using a non-invasive technique. Thanks to this technology, corrective cardiac surgery can be performed without resorting to more invasive tests, such as cardiac catheterization. Echocardiography can be used to do post-operative evaluations.

THE PEDIATRIC ECO-HEART

The pediatric Eco-Heart uses an instrument that emits sound waves that reach the heart and monitor the movement, the venous and arterial blood flow, as well as the appearance of the cardiac cavities. The probe is placed on the chest on which an ultrasound gel has been applied. Medication can be administered by mouth to put the child to sleep, in order to complete the examination.

The examination is not painful and does not require any specific preparation.
